New Phone!

Oh almost forgot... I got my new phone! Well dispite it being promised to arrive 4 days after I ordered it, stupid O2 didn't bother dispatching it till right before Easter - of course with no delivery over the long Easter weekend it got home just after I left to come back to uni - d'oh!

Well thanks to a lot of patience and a journey up with Phil (thanks) it got to its new owner on Saturday night... what can I say... it's well nice... the 7250 is much the same as the 7210 I had, but now with the camera lots of random pics can be taken...

As soon as I figure out how (and Ed writes the program) I might even be able to send pics directly from my phone to my blog... cool eh...

Unwelcome guest

We try to be as friendly as we can to guests here in the ClaudeStreet house, but last night all politeness had to go out the window...

After reading about Frodo's encounter with Shelob at the end of the "Two Towers" last weekend, last night I moved onto "The Return of the King". Happily sat in bed with the book I suddenly spotted a little Shelob of my own running across the floor... being not too friendly with spiders I smoothly jumped out of bed and headed towards my slippers (sorry spider lovers)... but as i turned round it made a run under my desk... torch grabbed and desk cleared I tried to find it, but failed... untill I turned round and discovered it climbing up onto my bed!

All consideration out of the window, the sliper got it's reflex action and mini-Shelob was no more... but for the next hour the room got a proper survey for any other little guests... and all because of that I only got 5hrs sleep again... I hate spiders...

Home for Easter

Well I've popped home for the Easter weekend - nice to get a break from all that masses of work I was doing...

Luckily I can update my blog globally, so expect fantastic stories as ever!

I can reveal that it was my mom that was actually the cleaning pixie, she can't help it... I thought me and Ed did a great job, but apparently it could have been even better... oh well...

Ant is currently: Thinking that home is even further away from the hair salon :-(

Spring Clean (Well Kinda)

Well it was about time the house got cleaned, so me and Ed just randomly decided tonight to extend the washing up (after I managed to break a glass in my hands trying to dry it)...

...while Ed scrubbed the oven tray then brushed the floor I prep'd the floor cleaner then mopped the floor... the table got washed, the chairs got moved, the bathroom got cleaned, the food got rearranged and to top it all off both our bedrooms have been tidied and hoovered - I even put some of my clothes away in their proper places...

That must be one of the most productive days we've had in a long time, and it's all been condensed into the last couple of hours... with all this hard work the next thing I'll need to do is get my hair cut again ;-)

SP

Well the new South Park was quite good - with the whole episode seeming to be a dig at J-Lo...

Just finding some random old songs that I had from ages ago, some that I had forgotten were so good ;-)

It's Wednesday Again...

Not really the most intersting last couple of days... After completing Splinter Cell (yes on normal level) I went on and completed CnC Generals too (ok, ok again on normal level)...

...So now onto Colin McRae 2 for a while in between all this work I'm doing... but there is a good point to Wednesdays for the next 2 weeks at least - the new South Park's are shown on Comedy Central in the US on Wednesday nights, so I can wake up tomorrow and see the new episodes... shame there's only 7 in this part-season though :-(

Only took 3 days...

...But at last today I managed to get out of bed at 11 and almost put the sleep cycle back to normal. Got quite a lot done too... got my hair cut (mmm fudge), sat on the phone to O2 for 25mins to order my new mobile, and even managed to finish not only the tram track alignment, but the road one too... hopefully tomorrow will be just as productive...

Also, still reading the Two Towers... hopefully this year I'll manage to read the appropriate book of the trilogy before the film comes out ;-)

Ant is currently: Wishing his hair needed cutting everyday so he could visit the hair salon repeatedly ;-)

WooHoo!

Splinter Cell is no more. Finished, finally. The last level is almost worthy of being the best, cetainly the most challenging and one of the better storylines... but not totally convinced by the slightly disapointing final sequence - a little dull after such a long game...

Well at least it can't distract me any more... well except for watching Ed try to play it of course ;-)

Public Explanation

Well following Russ' derogatory blog post about me from earlier today, I feel the need to do a bit of explaining... of course this was going to be private, but since it was requested to be public here we go...

  • There are 3 of us in the house. There is no reason whatsoever why I alone should have to do any washing up. There is no reason why I alone should be the target of any comments about the washing up not being done. Picking on the small one of the house clearly has inferences.

  • If asked to do something, something will be done. If told to do something, it often won't be. If repeatedly ordered to do something, it certainly won't be. There is a big difference; one which has clearly been ignored.

  • When the washing needs doing it will be done under our own will, as it has always been in the past. Things can occur without the need of a constant order, despite what some people obviously think.

  • When cooking pate a lot of washing up is created. There is no point washing up, just to have to do it all again 30 minutes later, when it can all be done after the cooking has finished in one big go. Despite the constant ordering I did break the principle and washed the whole 4 items that were needed for the pate cooking anyway, with the intention of washing up everything afterwards (of course this didn't happen since a point had to proven and it was done before any chance to voluntarily do it).

  • Since when did K2 become so small? A standard 2 meals worth of washing is by no way out of the ordinary when we generate so much in the house anyway.

  • So small I might die if not fed? At last check I was the perfect weight for my size. Since there has been no chance to prove otherwise, the insinuation that I would not be able to cook for myself (or others) is of course totally unjust. Cooking me only half a meal might be a bit mean - clearly derogatory posts, constant orders and aimed comments isn't?

Needless to say, the fact that the washing was not done for 2 days is the results of the above statements. After 2 days of orders, nothing changed, so nothing got done. As constantly proven, nobody has to do something just because they are ordered to, nor does anyone have the right to think that they should be able to order people to do anything. Maybe this is something we all have to consider occasionally... In fact, just like the famous washing up liquid slogan, a little (thought) goes a long way...

    Treacle in a mug

Alarm goes off at 11am, wake up again at 3-04pm... I'm seeing a pattern here ;-)

So to wake up a good strong double-bagged mug of tea is required. Lovely. Today I am going to finish the CAD map. Honestly.

    Nearly there...

Slightly more normal day today. Woken up by alarm at 11, turned on TV, woke up again at 1-45... nice start.

Lots of fun watching the attempted statue pulling-over on the news... only took 3 hours to figure it out... well at least I'm now on the penultimate level of Splinter Cell - I'm sure the last level will be bigger than all the previous ones combined but in my mind I've nearly finished it... back to normality after that? Probably not...

Ant is currently: Slightly cold, but not hungry

...oh and by the way, if you ever have to design a tram alignment, make sure you check if the minimum rail curve is 18m radius before you design the track with 18m minimum curve diameter... d'oh!

    Hmm...

Maybe I should stop playing Splinter Cell after dinner... everytime I do it ends up being stupid times like this before I get to sleep...
Well I think I've nearly finished it anyway, so it can't happen for much longer... and on the plus side I have done lots of work today and we managed to do the most expensive shop ever...
Maybe tomorrow will be a little more 'normal'...

    5am?

Why we're still up at 5am I don't know, but it's definately time to sleep... zzzzz

    Straight or Curved?

Don't worry... I mean pint glasses! Are they better as straight sided or curved? Personnally I like straight sided 'cus it makes the pint look nice and ensures an even decrease in level as you drink, whereas with curved sides the level can be difficult to judge...

Maybe the glass shape is determined by the drinking style of the contained beverage - I mean each drink that has its own branded glass also has its own shape... Lager tends to be curved, bitter tends to be straight... maybe the drink tastes differently depending on the shape of glass it is drunk from... who knows...

    No Internet Again!

Well BT have been letting us down again with yet more problems on their ADSL backbone lines...
...well at least I can get on with Splinter Cell while there isn't any internet to distract me ;-)

    I'm worth a fortune!

After Ed's Blog pursuaded me, I have checked on the internet how much I am worth...
...and according to HumanForSale.com I am worth precisely:

    $1,575,040.00

So anyone willing to make a serious offer should email me...
...in the mean time I'll be figuring out how to change these colours...
